Slime again

Our last experiments with making play "slime" weren't a great success. Even though we didn't manage to make any slime it was still great fun so we though we'd have another go.

Knowing where we'd gone wring before this time things worked. The slime was quite fun to play with. We also added polystyrene balls, making the mixture much less sticky and more able to hold it's shape.

Best of 2015

As part of our last week in the woods we asked everyone to share their favorite memories of 2015.

Swimming in the sea at summer camp was a particular favorite.

Breakfast in a bag at the bushcraft weekend was another popular memoryhttp://bradleystokewoodcraft.blogspot.co.uk/2015/10/the-last-camp-of-year.html

Spring camp, and in particular the bee game was a hit

At group nights games the recent lanterns and felt balls were the favorite crafts.

We're all looking forward to making plans for the camps and activities in 2016.

Winter woolies

The children had great fun making felted wool balls. After making a ball of white wool in the centre and choosing a variety of colours for the outside, each person dipped their ball into the warm water and added a drop of soap. After that it was a case of using hands to roll and shape the balls.

It was fascinating to see the fluffy fibers felt together and change into a solid ball.
